Closure

Kindergarten in review<3

My last day in the classroom I did my lesson. All my students knew I would not be coming back so they all wrote me a goodbye letter. Some of my students cried and some of them didnt know how to feel, they all yelled I will miss you when I walked out the door. Knowing I would not be a high school intern any longer hit me when I walked out the door for the last time. When I got to my truck I cried and had to call my mom. I will miss my mentor teacher and my students!

Financial literacy can pay off!

The subjects that could have been taught in a more relevant way would be math. Math should have been taught in more of a financial way. Business Information Management has been the most useful subject to me because you learn how to make documents of everything. you get to learn and get the feel of how the business world will be like. My ability to manage money and finances are no where near close for me to manage my  money and finances on my own. I would feel better about my financial future if I was taught financial literacy in school. I would be more comfortable about leaving for college knowing I could manage my own finances.

What teachers want parents to know

Teachers need parents to know and understand that their children need to not only be learning at school but also at home. Parents should make their children sit down for 30 min to an hour and just worry about homework. Teachers also need parents to understand that their children need to go to sleep at an resonable time. Children do not need to be staying awake at all hours of the night it is hard for them to learn at school. Parents need to  be partners with their children and be willing to help they do not need to be prosecutors. Students do need to be disciplined but in the right way.

The Rules

I think that Ron Clark put so much importance on rule #1, because if you dont have family then in reality you dont really have anything. Family is someone you can lean on when your having a hard time but also someone you can have a good time with. Family will always love you unconditionaly unlike friends.

#1 Be respectful
#2 Always be willing to help eachother
#3 Dont abuse the use of technology
#4 Get work in on time
#5 Be mindful of others

The High Cost of Education

The high cost of education in the 20th century is outrageous. Most people feel like they will be in debt for the rest of their lives just to get a college education. I plan on using fafsa as a way to pay for most of my college, but for the part that fafsa does not pay for I will use my different ways like my parents will pay some, my grandparents and also scholarships that I have been applying for.  I do not think I have done enough to pay for college because there is always more you could do. I have applied for fafsa but have not yet got the amount of money I can receive back.

What is creativity?

Creativity is the way the mind sees things and then puts it to use.
Creativity matters in education because in education you have to have special ways of getting the mind to focus and having more creative ways of teaching will get the students to focus more and have fun in the class room.
There are many ways of creativity in my site school class room. My teacher has each student their own water bottle so they don't have to go out and get a drink every time they are thirsty, we also write each of our spelling words on a little piece of paper, then put them in order and punch a hole in the side and put them on a string and make a neckless out of them! My students loved the new idea and the ones that never use to want to do their ABC order now do it with no problem!

Hire me, please!

  1. My strengths would be having my resume done and communicating with the person interviewing me well. I can easily hold a conversation with someone, because I am a friendly person and like to meet new people. My weaknesses is getting comfortable and being able to talk, because I am also a very shy person.
  2. I can over come my weakness by being more confident in myself and what I do in life.
  3. I have applied for a job and I got the job, because I was very nice and friendly which mean I would be able to help costumers in a friendly way.

Digital Learning Day

I would use the iPod touch because there are apps to where you can make your own stories and take your own pictures on the iPod touch. I would have a station in the class room to where 3- 5 students could go to this station and make their own story. At the end of the day we would draw names and the students that were picked could share their stories. You get this app buy going to the app store and finding which app you would like to buy for your students to use.
Storyrobe
In Mrs. Ristow's 2nd grade class we used iPod touches and used the app storyrobe.  Many of my students made their own stories and enjoyed their time while doing the activity.

Make It Happen in 2012!

1.   Procrastination gets the best of us. In 2012 I would like to not procrastinate so much. In order to change this I am going to have to stay on top of things, which includes checking my blogs every week and turning in assignments when they are do. I hope the outcome of this will help me pass my classes with better grades and raise my gpa.

2.   Coming to class on time and being late could hurt anyone while trying to have good grades. I would like to use my time better in school. In order to change not being late to classes everyday I will have to leave striaght form one class when the bell rings and go to another. The outcome of me not being late to class alot will also help me bring my grades up because I wont miss any of class to go get a tardy pass.

3.   Talking back is a bad thing any teenager has. I would like use my words whisley with my teachers. It would be easy to change this if I would do my work on time and not have to get mad when I have zero's.  I will get my work in on time and not procrastinate. The outcome of this will help me have a better relationship with my teachers and have better grades. I will get farther in life not being so rude.

Grinch or Santa?

Not being able to give holiday greetings during school is going against our freedom of speech and religion. If a student can not participate in the activities the classroom is doing there should be an alternate assignment and an alternate classroom for them to go to. Students not being able to give and receive presents from one another could be the only thing they would get for christmas. Some children never experience the holiday season and the most experience they would get is what they would get when they are at school. How are we suppose to teach our the next generation to be more appreciative of things when we cant teach them in school?

The Ideal Classroom

My ideal classroom would be to have the new 21st century learning styles. I will use technology with almost every lesson I teach, and I would like to use the couches and round tables instead of the desks. I want my students to be able to go to each other instead of always having to ask me. I want them to be able to look up things on the internet and research on their own starting in early childhood education.
